The Prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor is an exquisite story of cultures coming together for survival and fulfillment of life, a prophecy told by South American shamans and elders, passed down in indigenous cultures across South America for thousands of years. Today many individuals, groups and organizations are working together fulfilling this prophecy for the well being and survival of all.

The prophecy states that at the beginning of a five hundred year cycle, the era we now live in, there will be a reunion between the “people of the Eagle” and the “people of the Condor.” It explains that in the beginning all of the people on earth were one tribe and long ago they divided into two groups, each following a different path of development and enlightenment. The Condor represents people of South America and the Eagle represents people of North and Central America.

The time has come! It is here, now! The Eagle and the Condor are reuniting as indigenous people of North America, Central and South America come together creating a circle of harmony that was once broken. The prophecy predicts that the time is now for the people of the Condor and the people of the Eagle to reconcile, reunite and share each others uniquely developed skills and resources to survive.

This Prophecy of the Eagle and Condor is symbolic of what is happening on our planet, our country and around the world. As one group of people conciliate and reunite with harmony other people do likewise. This is happening individually within as we integrate out intuitive and intellectual mind a coming together with wholeness and an awareness of oneness. Also, this is happening collectively with collaborations of skills, knowledge, resources and intuition. People of the heart and the spirit, expressing profound wisdom and intuition with understanding, living a deep connection with the natural world are uniting with people of the mind and scientific skills, expressing highly developed technological and cognitive tolls, an acquired expression of high art, and the keen ability to build and construct.

Consequently, we are not only awakening to a greater understanding of who we are individually integrating our left and right, our inner and outer expressions with our mental capacities and intuition, we are wakening to our awareness of oneness with each other and the earth, truly connecting with one another, empowering each other. Those who have developed the mind with technological knowledge long for a relationship with the intuitive, loving, caring world to experience balance in living. Those who have highly developed intuitive skills hunger for the cognitive skills and scientific knowledge to be successful in the material world. This longing for a balance of life is essential to the awakening of our needs for survival of life on this planet.

We are awakening our awareness to the realization that we exist in a Presence and Power that is the Creative Life Force in all, in fact, the essence of all life. It is the air we breathe, the earth we walk on, the food we eat. It is the “Allness” that comprises the entire universe. This Creative Life Force, a life giving energy exists in each and every one of us, and patiently awaits our awakening to the realization of this truth. This invisible Life Energy is our heartbeat and pulse. It is the energy of all creation, often referred to as God.

As we come to accept our connection in this life giving energy, we realize that we are all “made in the image and likeness of God.” As Paul, in New Testament scripture said so plainly, “In Him (God) we live, move, and have our being.” As we allow this truth within us to come forth, we accept ourselves as magnificent expressions of the Divine. Our infinite soul has always known this truth, and nudges us toward discovery, understanding, and expression of this thing called Life. While no one can find God for us or know God for us our mind continually searches for Truth until we experience a quiet mind and therein discover within the “secret place of the Most High.” This inner place is our secret garden: an inner sanctuary of infinite love, peace, and joyous understanding. Recognizing that we are all made of “God Stuff”, Spirit within, we can see and appreciate this in others, open and willing to learn and share with others, honoring differences.

Now, as the Prophecy of the Condor and the Eagle states, we are at the time of rejoining and rejoicing in wholeness and unity. Remembering who we are, remembering our common origin, we are beginning to share our knowledge and intuition to reconnect, share and save each other.

Awareness of the power of the Prophecy is heightened beginning May 1, 2008 with two groups of runners simultaneously setting out from Alaska and Argentina . They will run to hundreds of communities for over seven months in route to Panama where they will join. These Peace and Dignity journeys have been conducting ceremonial runs since 1992, taking place every four years. Each year is dedicated to specific themes:

1992: 500 Years of Indigenous Resistance/Dedicated to the Children

1996: Dedicated to the Elders

2000: Dedicated to the Families

2004: Dedicated to honor Women

2008: Dedicated to honor, preserve and protect our Sacred Sites

Pittsburgh is a point of light, a Sacred Site to preserve and protect.

A new consciousness is emerging that honors people for their deep wisdom and powerful intuition of the heart and nature, and at the same time honoring people for their vast intellect and great accomplishments in technology and science. In truth, the Eagle people and the Condor people must collaborate, integrate, come into an alliance with each other to survive, to resolve our present crisis and create a balanced partnership benefiting all. It is the uniting of a circle of life that was once broken several thousands of years ago. The Condor and the Eagle are learning to fly together, learning to enjoy and appreciate the rich resources they offer each other.
